Financial Manager Luxury Game Reserve Eastern Cape

Location: Grahamstown

We are now in search of a qualified and experienced Financial Manager to head-up this team on a Private 5 star , luxurious Game Reserve in the Eastern Cape.

Education and Experience
B.Com Degree – Accounts or Finance
Completed articles will be advantageous but not required
Strong understanding of accounting theory and practice – GAAP
Computer literate with intermediate to advanced experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excell) & Pastel Evolution/Partner
Payroll administration, VIP experience will be advantageous
Minimum 4 to 6 years’ experience in similar position required – Game Lodge or Hospitality Industry

Characteristics – Hard working, honesty, confidentiality and integrity

General duties & responsibilities
Primary responsibility is to prepare financial statements and supporting schedules at month-end up to balance sheet
Prepare monthly management reports and quarterly financial overview schedules, worksheets and narratives, including “Budget vs Actual” variance reports. Assisting with follow-up and documentation of significant variances
Facilitate and complete monthly procedures and accounting checks
Analyse revenues, commissions and expenses to ensure accurate recording on a monthly basis
Check monthly account reconciliations and clearing accounts (Semper & Pastel reconcile)
Reviewing all financial related procedures, implementing and maintaining of best operating practices, systems and procedures
VAT administration and submission
Payroll back-up function
Prepare yearly audit schedules and assist with the audit and handle all finance related quiries
Other general bookkeeping responsibilities
Producing key statistics and comparisons on a bi-weekly basis
Assist with Employment Equity and Stats for Statistics SA

Package and working hours
Cost to company package of R18 000 to R22 500
Company contribution to Medical Aid and Provident Fund included in the cost to company amount above
Accommodation provided
Transport to and from work provided
15 working days annual leave
Office hours – Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00
